Marshalls, Dollar Tree open at Marshfield Plaza

8/27/2009

Chicago Primestor Development said Wednesday that Marshalls and Dollar Tree have opened stores in Marshfield Plaza, a 454,000-sq.-ft. regional shopping center located on Chicago’s South Side.

Marshfield Plaza is Beverly Hills, Calif.-based Primestor’s first development in Chicago.

The 26,000-sq.-ft. Marshalls and 10,400-sq.-ft. Dollar Tree join Target, Jewel-Osco, LA Fitness, Staples, Petco, Anna’s Linens, Fifth Third Bank, Chili’s, Panda Express, and other tenants at Marshfield Plaza.

Tenants will continue to open through the year at the center. A 6,500-sq.-ft. Chili’s restaurant will open this fall, as will a 3,000-sq.-ft. Simply Fashion. City Sports will open a 3,000-sq.-ft. unit in early winter.

The center replaces the shuttered 600,000-sq.-ft. Libby Food canning plant, continuing the redevelopment of the neighborhood’s retail corridor and the area’s expansive redevelopment efforts.
