Loehmann’s sets grand-opening date for open-air center location
Miami Fashion retailer Loehmann’s announced it has committed to open a 25,699-sq.-ft. store in The Palms at Town & Country, an open-air shopping center under redevelopment in Kendall, Fla.
The Palms owner TIAA-CREF, along with Flagler Development Group and Jones Lang LaSalle, said the store is slated to open spring 2010. The Mediterranean-themed retail redevelopment has a tenant lineup that includes Kohl’s, Nordstrom Rack and 24 Hour Fitness.
The Palms at Town & Country, owned by TIAA-CREF and being redeveloped by Flagler Development Group, will house a total of 700,000 sq. ft. of Mediterranean-themed mixed retail components and a 133,000 sq.-ft. Professional Arts Center when completed.
Phase 1 of The Palms at Town & Country, the existing 292,730-sq.-ft. Town Center home to retailers such as New York & Co., Marshall’s, Men’s Wearhouse, Publix and Shaq's 24 Hour Fitness, remains open during the construction of the additional phase. This portion of the Town Center underwent an expansive external renovation to incorporate Mediterranean-themed elements of the development’s new design.
Phase 2 of The Palms at Town & Country will feature 397,834-sq.-ft. of new construction open-air specialty retail, bordering a six-acre lake. This open-air retail center will feature dozens of apparel, entertainment, restaurants, home accessories and specialty businesses connected by pedestrian-friendly walkways.
The open-air specialty retail will be completed in phases: 153,563 sq. ft. of buildings and outparcels to be completed in the fall; 69,503 sq. ft. of retail to be completed in fall 2010; and 79,828 sq. ft. to be completed in fall 2012.
