JLL will be taking over management and leasing of River Ridge Mall in Lynchburg, Va., the company announced this week.
The 764,368 sq. ft. mall is owned by Liberty University, the Lynchburg college founded by noted evangelist Jerry Falwell. It benefits from accessibility to Route 29 via Wards Road and Route 460 via the Candlers Mountain Road exit in this central Virginia town east of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
“The trade area brings the buying power of more than 45,000 students to the mall, making it a top destination for retailers looking to expand in the region,” said JLL senior VP David Renninger.
The mall is anchored by Belk, J.C. Penney and T.J.Maxx with additional retail and dining option such as Bath & Body Works, Red Lobster, American Eagle Outfitters, Victoria’s Secret/PINK and Steak & Shake, just to name a few. The mall is also home to a 57,500 square-foot, state-of-the-art 14 screen Regal Cinema and a 16,700 square-foot Planet Fitness.
“JLL brings a large team of experienced retail professionals in addition to resources that will help us manage River Ridge and assist us as we create a premier shopping, dining, and entertainment destination,” said Craig Pettitt, VP of retail real estate at Liberty University.
