ICSC names new CEO

9/2/2015

New York -- The International Council of Shopping Centers named a 26-year Deloitte veteran as the fourth individual to lead the global trade association in its 58-year history.

Thomas (Tom) McGee, currently vice chairman, Deloitte LLP, was appointed president and CEO of ICSC, effective Sept. 21. He succeeds current ICSC President and CEO, Michael P. Kercheval who announced his retirement earlier this year.

"I am delighted with the choice of Tom McGee as ICSC’s new CEO and am confident that he is the ideal choice to lead the next stage of the association’s growth,” said ICSC Chairman, Stephen Lebovitz, president and CEO, CBL & Associates Properties. “Tom is a highly accomplished executive with a history of delivering top and bottom line results at one of the largest and most successful professional services firm in the world. He brings to ICSC a wealth of talent and experience including vision, strategic insight, a client/member service mindset and expertise in team and professional development best practices. In light of these attributes, I believe he is well equipped to lead ICSC and its 70,000 plus members throughout the world.”

During his 26 years with Deloitte, McGee has held major global and U.S. leadership roles, including, among others, vice chairman, Deputy CEO, national managing partner of M&A Services and Global chief of staff. He has also been a member of Deloitte’s Global and U.S. executive and Operational Leadership Committees.

McGee has significant media experience, with appearances on CNBC, Bloomberg and Fox Business and is frequently quoted in national media outlets. He is also active in numerous civic, charitable, and academic organizations.
