2/26/2015

Madison, Wis. -- Two locally owned businesses – Mes Amies and Waxing the City – will join the tenant lineup as part of the redevelopment of Hilldale shopping center, located in Madison, Wisconsin.

Women’s apparel boutique Mes Amies will open this summer, a relocation from Chicago. And waxing and personal care studio Waxing the City will make its Wisconsin debut with the Hilldale store, also slated to open summer 2015.

WS Development, owner of Hilldale, is nearing completion of a redevelopment that will take the former enclosed mall area between Metcalfe’s Market and Macy’s and create an open-air streetscape. The plan will deliver outward facing storefronts along the existing streets in this area, and add an open-air connection through a pedestrian walkway to the west parking lot with additional storefronts, patio dining and lush landscaping. The 675,000-sq.-ft. center is anchored by Macy’s, Target, Metcalfe’s Market, and Sundance Cinemas.

“Hilldale has a rich history of providing the Greater Madison market with a unique mix of local offerings and popular national brands,” said Pam Ferrara, senior director of leasing at WS Development. “The addition of these two new locally owned businesses further reinforces Hilldale’s commitment to providing a merchandise mix that serves the needs of the community and offers superior variety and selection.”

The two new concepts will join previously announced Café Hollander, kate spade new york, Lucky Brand, Lush, Madewell, Michael Kors, Sperry Top-Sider, Sur La Table, White House l Black Market, all scheduled to open this summer.
