Hammond Square celebrates grand opening
Hammond, La. Stirling Properties said Wednesday that the grand-opening celebration for Hammond Square will be Oct. 1 through Oct. 4.
“We’ve built over 2.5 million sq. ft. of shopping centers in the last seven years, but this one is unique,” said Jimmy Maurin, owner of Hammond Square and chairman of Stirling Properties. “Our vision for the redevelopment was to provide a more significant retail offering for the market. Hammond Square, in my opinion, is the center of the future of retail in the region."
After the ribbon cutting, the Hammond Square shopping experience will begin with the opening of stores such as Books-A-Million, Maurices, Rue 21, Hibbett Sports, Foot Locker and Coach House Gifts. Existing tenants include Target, Dillard’s, J.C. Penney, Sears, AMC Theatres, Best Buy, T.J. Maxx, Rite-Aid and Raising Cane’s.
Originally developed as the 430,000-sq.-ft. Hammond Square Mall, the new Hammond Square will be twice the original size and is designed as a combination power/lifestyle center.
