GreenbergFarrow designs redeveloped Bergen Town Center
New York City Architectural and design firm GreenbergFarrow said Wednesday it has completed the renovation and expansion of Bergen Town Center, a 52-acre regional mall in Paramus, N.J.
Bergen Town Center is owned and operated by Vornado Realty Trust.
It is tenanted by Century 21, Filene’s Basement, Marshall’s, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, Gap, Avenue and Zales. The center was expanded by 143,000 sq. ft. to a total size of 1.5 million sq. ft.
The renovation involved the addition of Whole Foods, Target, Nordstrom Rack and other outlets to its retail mix.
Conceived as an open mall in 1957 and converted to an enclosed mall in 1972, the center's facade was replaced to contiguously match several new expansion areas. Interior renovations included new entrance courts, a new double-height concourse with additional skylight areas, and various storefront improvements. Renovation work commenced in 2006.
