GreenbergFarrow completes Manhattan Mall redevelopment

11/12/2009

New York City Architectural firm GreenbergFarrow said Thursday that it has completed the renovation and repositioning of Manhattan Mall at Herald Square, a project for which the company served as the architect.

The five-level, 400,000-sq.-ft. property was acquired by Vornado Realty Trust in 2007.

The upgrade of the retail centers, which encompasses the full Avenue of the Americas block front extending from 32nd to 33rd Streets, included improved site access and circulation, renovation of the core and atrium, relocating and adding escalators and elevators, and recladding portions of the exterior facade.

The redesign was highlighted by the opening of a new, 153,000-sq. ft. J.C. Penney, the retailer's first Manhattan location.
