GGP to manage two Tenn. centers

Chicago General Growth Properties said Wednesday it will assume third-party management, leasing and marketing duties for Northgate Mall and Cherokee Square Shopping Center, both in Tullahoma, Tenn.

The contract was awarded by Northgate Limited Liability Co. 

“Located in central Tennessee, with the area’s only regional airport and a thriving medical center, Tullahoma is ideally situated to be a retail hub not only for Tennessee residents, but also for people who live just across the border in Alabama,” said Joe Lester, managing partner of Northgate Limited Liability Co. “However, when Northgate Mall and Cherokee Square began having challenges, we knew we needed a change.

Northgate Mall is a 205,000-sq.-ft. enclosed shopping center anchored by J.C. Penney and Big Lots. The 76,000-sq.-ft., open-air Cherokee Square is located adjacent to Northgate Mall.
