General Growth Properies unveils same-day delivery, no-wait Santa visits,—and free rides via Uber

CHICAGO - In time for the holiday rush, General Growth Properties has introduced several new customer initiatives, including an arrangment with Uber to provide free trips (up to $60) to participating malls for all riders and free return trips for new Uber riders or those who spend more than $150 during their visit.



The shopping center developer is providing omni-channel initiatives like same day delivery; enhanced guest experience services; and one-of-a-kind holiday attractions.



The initiatives include:

Same Day Delivery: This feature gives shoppers the option to have in-store purchases delivered to nearly any destination within a select mile radius that same day Same Day delivery is free until the end of the year and is available at 12 GGP locations.

No-Wait Santa Visits: Many GGP mall locations have introduced reservation-based Santa visits, including the magical Adventure to Santa experience, a DreamWorks DreamPlace. This first-of-its-kind holiday experience starts with Shrek, ends with Santa and blends storytelling with cutting-edge technology wrapped in a 2,000-s.-ft. interactive space. Shoppers can schedule an appointment at www.AdventuretoSanta.com or download the DreamPlace app from the Apple App Store and/or Google Play, eliminating the need to wait in line before embarking on this unforgettable adventure.

Transportation Courtesies: Several GGP mall locations have added parking ambassadors to assist guests with parking and provide up-to-the-minute knowledge on parking lot status, as well as golf carts to shuttle customers to and from their vehicle.

In addition, select locations have partnered with Uber to provide free trips (up to $60) to participating malls for all riders and free return trips for new Uber riders or those who spend more than $150 during their visit. Uber stands are available inside the mall and drivers know exactly when to pick guests up, so there is no waiting in the cold.

Enhanced Guest Services Kiosks: True service involves more than just providing information, and GGP continues to elevate its guest services with the introduction of staffed, interactive spaces complete with iPads for guests to use, charging stations, gift card sales, free gift wrapping and complimentary bottled water.

Answers Via Text: GGP has introduced a Texting Program that gives shoppers a new way to navigate and communicate with the mall. service allows guests to text an inquiry to a dedicated phone number and receive a response within just 2-3 minutes.

Merrier Thursdays: On Thursdays this December, shoppers at select GGP shopping malls will be treated to a mall-wide party. Merrier Thursdays is an innovative and comprehensive program designed to delight shoppers with marquee entertainment, free wine and food, live poets to create custom verses for gift-giving and a “Happiness Patrol” that is on watch throughout the day, ready to provide shoppers with such a treat, gift card, bottle of water, help with shopping bags or free gift wrap.
