Gander Mountain to open in Marion, Illinois

Marion, Ill. -- Outdoor gear and apparel retailer Gander Mountain is set to open its new location, in Marion, Illinois, on May 7.



The new 52,000-sq.-ft. store is the company’s eighth in Illinois. The exterior and interior layout reflect Gander Mountain's new store design featuring innovative interior elements, displays and fixtures.



"We at Gander Mountain have a long history of serving the outdoor needs of Illinois and expanding into Marion enables us to serve the state from north to south," said Gander Mountain president and COO Mike Owens. "We've put together a fun grand opening weekend with a focus on fishing, hunting, boating, archery and camping activities for the entire community to enjoy."



Gander Mountain operates 158 stores in 27 states.
