Five Below’s store count to reach big number

Five Below continues its rapid expansion.



The extreme-value retailer will open its 500th store in Trexlertown, Pennsylvania, on Sept. 9.



“We are so excited to hit this incredible company milestone,” said Joel Anderson, CEO of Five Below, which targets pre-teens and teens with all merchandise priced at $5 and below. “In just 3 years, we have more than doubled our stores across the country. Hitting 500 stores in just 14 years is a testament to our customers’ support and hard work of our Five Below associates.”



In August 2002, Five Below opened its first location in Wayne, Pennsylvania, is now one of the fastest growing retailers in the country with stores in 30 states.



The Trexlertown store is one of approximately 85 new Five Below locations opening in 2016, in addition to 71 new stores that opened in 2015. It is also one of 59 Five Below stores in the company’s home state of Pennsylvania.
