Famed Seattle center set for renovation

3/22/2017

Pacific Place, a 20-year-old luxury retail center in downtown Seattle, will be undergoing an extensive re-do beginning the fourth quarter of this year.

The 330,000-sq.-ft. home to Nordstrom’s flagship store, Barneys New York, and Tiffany & Co. will get a new South Lake-facing grand entrance to make way for added space that will accommodate upgraded restaurant tenants.

“With the ever growing high-tech neighborhood of South Lake Union to the north, the doubling in size of the Washington State Convention Center to the east … it’s clear that Pacific Place will continue to be the central location for shopping in Seattle,” said Daniel Meyers, senior VP of project management for the center’s owner, Madison Marquette.

Nordstrom’s recently completed a renovation includes a sky-bridge connecting it to the Convention Center, and Madison Marquette’s redevelopment strategy focused on moving best-in-class retailers to that area of the center.

Last year, Madison Marquette purchased the parking garage attached to Pacific Place from the city of Seattle.
