Don’t be left out in the cold. The Retail Design Institute is accepting entries for its annual store design competition. The deadline to submit is December 31, 2016.
The competition celebrates exceptional retail experiences across more than 20 categories from department stores and specialty shops to restaurants and pop-ups. In addition, a single "Store of the Year" will be chosen from among the winning entries.
Eligible projects are those completed between Nov. 1, 2014 and Dec. 31, 2015. For more information and/or to submit an entry, click here. All submissions will be accepted online.
New for 2015, the Institute is partnering with Chain Store Age magazine, the retail industry’s authority on store operations, to promote the competition and the winning projects. An awards ceremony honoring the winners will take place in Dallas, Saturday, March 12, at Lowe’s Anatole Hotel, the day before CSA’s SPECS Show 2016 opens.
Also new this year is a streamlined submission process designed to make entering the competition faster and easier. Entrants are not required to be Institute members. Members, however, receive member pricing and discounts for multiple submissions. (Learn more here.)
The Institute’s design competition is the industry’s only peer-reviewed competition, with a judging panel comprised of professional Retail Design Institute members and other top industry professionals.
The competition includes Institute’s prestigious "Innovation Awards," which recognizes exceptional concepts for Store Planning, Lighting, Visual Merchandising, Shopfitting & Fixtures, Sustainability, Finishes & Materials, Graphic Design and Digital/Technology Integration.
