Englewood Construction has started working on three new ground-up retail projects.
The national general contractor is building a Hobby Lobby in Beavercreek, Ohio; a PetSmart in Taylor, Michigan; and a Goodwill in Monroe, Connecticut.
Englewood recently broke ground on a 55,000-sq.-ft. ground-up Hobby Lobby store in Beavercreek, Ohio. Slated for completion by the end of January 2016, the project will use tilt-up construction of masonry embossed panels. Tulsa, Oklahoma-based Robert Michael Hughes is the project architect.
Earlier this year, Englewood completed two stores for Oklahoma City-based Hobby Lobby Stores Inc.: a 55,000-sq.-ft. ground-up building in Seabrook, New Hampshire, and a 62,114-sq.-ft. build-out of a former J.C. Penney in Forsyth, Illinois.
“With the DIY and crafting movement showing no sign of slowing down, Hobby Lobby continues to expand across the country, and we’re thrilled to be part of their growth strategy,” Di Santo said.
In Taylor, Michigan, Englewood is demolishing an existing PetSmart and then building a new PetSmart in the same end-cap location at Taylor Retail Center. The 27,308-sq-ft. building, slated for completion in early 2016, also includes space for a future tenant. Akron, Ohio-based GPD Group is the project architect.
Goodwill selected Englewood to build its 18,251-sq.-ft. store in Monroe, Connecticut. The ground-up construction began this past June and will be completed in December. Meriden, Connecticut-based BL Companies is the project architect.
