Dyson planning to go brick-and-mortar

9/23/2015

The maker of bagless and cordless vacuum cleaners and high-tech fans is looking to sell its products in its own branded spaces.

Dyson is planning to open a store on London’s Oxford Street as a prelude to opening locations around the world, The Daily Mail reported. The company has previously opened pop-ups at the Bluewater shopping center in Kent, England, and in select malls in the United States.

In April, Dyson opened a freestanding store in Tokyo. It has an Apple-like feel, and displays some 20 products, including the company’s signature vacuum cleaners, as well its bladeless fans. The space features a variety of flooring surfaces on which customers can try out the vacuums.

“We are looking at environments, like our Tokyo space, that allow us to explain our technology and hopefully enthuse people about science and engineering too,” a Dyson spokesman told the Daily Mail.
