Dunkin’ Donuts plans a dozen Dayton stores

Canton, Mass. Dunkin’ Donuts plans to open a dozen locations in the Dayton, Ohio area over the next seven years, according to the Dayton Business Journal.

The chain signed a deal with Tampa Bay, Fla.-based Giant Oil to develop 12 restaurants in the region. The franchisee, Giant Oil, plans to open a location in 2011 and the remaining 11 within the next five years.

Giant Oil has a background in the retail industry, as well as management, ownership and operation of convenience stores.

There is already one Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robbins location in the Dayton area.

In addition to the 12 locations Giant Oil will develop, Dunkin’ Donuts is looking for additional franchisees to develop a minimum of three locations in the surrounding areas of Springfield, Tipp City, Middletown, Eaton and Lima, the report said.
