City Furniture on the move with store renovations

1/26/2016

City Furniture is opening a new Ashley Furniture HomeStore at the Mall at Wellington Green, Wellington, Florida., and rolling out a new design look for its Pembroke Pines City Furniture showroom in Pembroke Pines, Florida. (City Furniture is the Southeast and Southwest Florida licensee for Ashley Furniture HomeStores.)

The 25,000-sq.-ft. Ashley Furniture store features upscale finishes and fixtures and is is the first location in South Florida built to Ashley Furniture HomeStore’s bright, airy “Generation 6” design standards and boutique feel. With vintage market, contemporary living, “urbanology,” and other lifestyle display areas, the store features a wide range of furniture styles and home accents, along with an extensive bedding selection.

At the City Furniture Pembroke Pines location, a $2 million interior renovation and exterior upgrade has enhanced the 58,659-sq.-ft. store to showcase the next-generation interior design found in City Furniture’s newest locations throughout Southeast, Southwest and Central Florida. Dramatic energy efficient lighting, expanses of glass, new flooring, wall covering and sleek fixtures create a bright, up-tempo backdrop for the store’s contemporary, Florida casual and traditional furnishings.

The store was in full operation throughout the renovation, with contractor Miller Construction Company’s crews phasing the work to prevent inconvenience to customers and store staff.

The Wellington and Pembroke Pines construction projects are the latest steps in enhancing and upgrading the retailer’s network of 15 City Furniture and 11 Ashley Furniture HomeStore locations.

The furniture retailer is donating a portion of the first-month sales at the two locations to its long-time community partner, Habitat for Humanity.

“We’re delighted to spotlight the fresh, new shopping experience at each of these locations and to continue growing our partnership with Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the markets we serve,” said Robert Ruiz, City Furniture VP of store design and environment.
