Chick-fil-A is set to open its third location in New York City, and it promises to be one of the company’s busiest.
Chick-fil-A, which has some 2,200 locations nationwide, will open across from Grand Central Station, in Midtown Manhattan, on Thursday, March 1. The station serves more than 750,000 commuters each day. To meet the expected demand, Chick-fil-A designed the 6,263-sq.-ft. restaurant to handle extreme volume. Utilizing the company’s “upstream ordering” technology, team members will take orders on tablets as soon as patrons walk through the doors – ensuring a shorter queue time.
In addition to efficiency, the new Chick-fil-A is designed for comfort. It has seating for 100 on the second level, which offers views of Grand Central Station and One Vanderbilt, a 1.7 million-sq.-ft. skyscraper currently in development.
The Grand Central site will be followed by the opening of Chick-fil-A’s
largest location to date, a five-story, 12,000-sq.-ft. restaurant with a rooftop terrace on Fulton Street, in Manhattan’s Financial District.
