Bon Ton’s new owner sees potential for 100-plus stores in next few years

The new owner of Bon-Ton has big plans for the company’s future.

CSC Generation Holdings purchased Bon-Ton’s intellectual property and trademarks after the bankrupt retailer shuttered its stores in August. In a report by the StarTribune, CSC CEO Justin Yoshimura outlined his plans for the department store company going forward, which include the opening of 100-plus stores in the next few years — depending on how the first few perform.

Yoshimura said his plan involved going back to the roots of department stores, back when “a department store was a customer’s number one retailer.”
