5/13/2010

Beverly Hills, Calif. Primestor Development announced that Best Buy will open a new store at the Plaza Pacoima shopping center in Los Angeles on May 21.

Best Buy will join Costco and Lowe’s in anchoring the 343,000-sq.-ft. center, which will celebrate its grand opening on June 12. The $78 million project also includes 4,000 sq. ft. of specialty retail, restaurant and office space.

Primestor is partnering with investors Prudential and CRA/LA on the project.

Plaza Pacoima is being built on the site of the former Price Pfister plumbing fixtures manufacturing facility. The center will seek a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Sustainable features will include on-site storm water retention, shaded pedestrian routes, and lush perimeter and parking lot landscaping.
