Chicago -- Telecommunications giant AT&T is setting up shop on Chicago's Magnificent Mile, opening a flagship on Sept. 1. The 10,000-sq.-ft. store, at 600 N. Michigan Ave., is designed to showcase what consumers can do with AT&T's products and to educate them about future wireless technologies and services.
"Our Michigan Avenue store is where customers can immerse themselves in everything AT&T is about and truly explore the technology we have to offer," said Paul Roth, president of AT&T's retail sales and service. "Customers can touch, feel and see how our latest devices and apps will fit their lifestyles, whether they’re interested in fitness or music, entertainment or family."
In addition to selling AT&T products and services, the store offers shoppers a peak into the future, with the first-ever retail demonstrations of the company’s new AT&T Digital Life home security and automation services. It also features a connected car (a 2012 Nissan Leaf) that is used to show how wireless technology can help driving.
Other highlights of the store include the Explore Lounge, where shoppers can play with and learn about various apps. A dazzling 18-ft. high Connect Wall displays interactive content and product information.
The store also includes a series of Lifestyle Boutiques, which display products, apps and accessories organized according to customer needs. One of the boutiques, Chicagoland, features local apps and Chicago-themed accessories.
"Every aspect and every innovation of our Michigan Avenue store has been designed with the customer experience in mind," Roth said.
