Associated Foods to shutter three Fresh Markets

Salt Lake City A report released Thursday said that Associated Foods Stores will close three of its Fresh Market stores in October. According to a report by Supermarket News, the three Utah stores -- two in Salt Lake City and one in Provo -- were among the group of 34 Albertsons that the member-owned cooperative purchased last November from Minneapolis-based Supervalu.

The closures are slated for Oct. 29.

Besides the 34 Fresh Markets, Associated operates 22 other corporate stores under banners that include Macey's, Dan's, Lin's and Dick's Markets.
