Experienced mixed-use developer Cullinan Properties has been chosen by St. Louis University to acquire and develop a site adjacent to its new hospital scheduled to open next year.

The planned 850,000-sq.-ft. development will take shape on a 14-acre parcel next to the SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital, currently under construction. The site sits at the intersection of Grand Boulevard and Chouteau Avenue in Midtown St. Louis with easy access to I-64 and I-44.

Cullinan plans to offer a mix of retail, entertainment, restaurant, office, hotel, and residential to what is known as the Prospect Yards district.

“This investment by Cullinan Properties will transform an empty lot into a unique and lasting development that will serve the SLU community and our neighbors for many years to come,” said the university’s president Fred P. Pestello.

Cullinan is partnering with BatesForum and Clayco for design-build services and Stock & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc. for civil engineering services. Patty Kueneke and Kathleen Cullinan Brill of Cullinan Properties will handle retail leasing inquiries.

“We are excited about this tremendous opportunity and how this new development will complement the booming Prospect Yards corridor and also add to what St. Louis has to offer its visitors and residents,” said Cullinan CEO Christopher M. West.
