Qdoba Mexican Eats is aiming to expand its footprint through a new incentive program for new and existing franchisees.

The Mexican fast-casual chain is launching a new cash incentive program for candidates looking to open Qdoba stores. Qualified franchisees will receive $100,000 in cash after opening for any commitments to open new restaurants by September 2026. The incentive is available to new franchisees dedicated to multi-unit development and existing franchisees adding incremental restaurants to their development growth plans.

Qdoba says its goal is to continue its expansion momentum, stating that the chain has signed ten new deals to-date in 2024 for more than 70 future restaurants with more in the pipeline, and now has nearly 400 new restaurant commitments in development. It added that it is targeting “qualified multi-unit and multi-segment groups with a proven track record in development” for the new incentive program.

“We are strong believers in QDOBA’s tremendous growth potential, and we want to reward franchisees who are motivated to grow alongside the brand in the most attractive category,” said Jeremy Vitaro, chief development officer, who joined the chain earlier this year. “With this incentive, we aim to attract passionate operating teams who share our vision and capitalize on the significant white space available, and we’re confident the financial boost will further enhance their investment in future restaurant development in a timely and achievable way.”

Qdoba says its desired site attributes for new locations include, among others: Endcap, in-line, or freestanding; Option for drive-thru, pick-up/walk-up windows; Ample surface parking and patio seating; 1,800 – 2,200 sq. ft.; Strong visibility and easy access; and site and operational support provided.

Based in San Diego, Qdoba operates more than 750 locations in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
