More than just movies at PREIT's Park and Play summer event series.

Like a lot of mall owners, PREIT has turned many of its parking lots into drive-in movie theaters during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it hasn’t stopped there.

PREIT’s Park and Play event series will feature a “Carnival Food Drive Thru” in the lot at Woodland Mall in Grand Rapids, Mich., this week. On Sept. 19, it will add food to the film with “Dinner and a Movie” at Willow Grove Park in Willow Grove, Pa. And at Moorestown Mall in Moorestown, N.J., it will host “Super Hero Saturday” on the 26th.

Its most ambitious event will run for two consecutive weekends beginning next week. The “Parking Lot Social” will feature comedy performances and “car-a-oke,” as well as movies at Springfield Town Center in Springfield, Va.

“These events encourage families and friends to safely engage, strengthening the bond we have with our shoppers,” said PREIT CEO Joseph Coradino.
