Los Angeles-based Pacific Retail Capital Partners (PRCP) has been recognized for its efforts by winning four MAXI awards at this year’s ICSC’s Global MAXI ceremony, which honor retail real developers for their events, programs, and technology.

PRCP received three gold MAXIs and one silver MAXI across multiple categories. Earlier this month, GlobeSt., named the company an “Influencer in Retail Real Estate,” an annual list recognizes the most impactful owners, investors, and developers in commercial real estate.

"Our entire team at PRCP is dedicated to creating retail experiences that resonate with our communities and contribute to the evolution of the industry,” said PCRP executive VP of marketing, Najla Kayyem. “We remain committed to learning, growing, and working together to shape the future of retail real estate, and are honored that the industry views us as a leader in this regard."

PRCP’s 2024 MAXI award tally:

  • Gold MAXI – Community: “Extend Aloha” The wildfires in Maui last year left thousands without homes and businesses, prompting an immediate need for support. PRCP's "Extend Aloha" campaign aimed to raise awareness and funds for Maui through social media engagement, tenant partnerships, and community events across its portfolio of shopping centers. The initiative raised some $25,000 in donations and secured more than $30,000-worth of donated vendor services. PRCP provided temporary retail space and financial aid to displaced Maui businesses and created a prom experience for students who lost their schools in the fires.
  • Gold MAXI – Community: “Kokua for Maui” PCRP’s Queen Ka'ahumanu Center mobilized to become the island's vital community hub by partnering with organizations like the American Red Cross to provide space for donation collection, supply distribution to serve 2,000 people daily, and sheltering efforts. The center hosted a benefit concert attended by 350 people that raised $1,400 and furthered its position as a beacon of hope. QKC's partnerships drew more than 500,000 visitor trips focused on disaster aid over two months.
  • Gold MAXI – Community: “Crabtree Cares” Crabtree Valley Mall partnered with nonprofits to host charity events and initiatives, connecting over 4,000 people and 45 retailers with opportunities to give back. The campaign generated $593,200 for the organizations, drove traffic and sales, with participating stores exceeding goals, and secured over 46 million positive media impressions.
  • Silver MAXI – Integrated: “419 Day” April 19 is an annual day of celebration in Northwest Ohio, and PRCP’s Franklin Park Mall in Toledo positioned itself as the hub of citywide festivities for the occasion in 2023. Through strategic partnerships, a digital campaign, on-site activation, and PR initiatives, the mall drove significant increases in foot traffic and sales. Nearly 70% of Franklin Park tenants exceeded on the day (a Wednesday last year).

PRCP’s portfolio totals 24 properties encompassing over 20 million sq. ft.
