O’Reilly named president of Howard Hughes Corp.

As CFO of Howard Hughes Corp., David O’Reilly played a significant role in the financial direction of the company into master-planned communities. Now he will play an even more significant role as president of the company.

“I am pleased that David will be assuming the role of president of our company as we continue to unlock value in our portfolio and pursue opportunities for long-term growth. David has provided tremendous leadership…and has been instrumental in positioning us well for the future,” said CEO Paul H. Layne in a press release.

Holder of a degree in civil engineering from Tufts University, O’Reilly kicked off his financial career during seven years at Lehman Brothers, where rose to senior VP. He was the chief financial and investment officer at Parkway Properties for five years before joining Howard Hughes in 2016. O’Reilly has also served on the board of Kite Realty Group for the past six years. 

The Seaport District in New York, The Woodlands in Texas, and Ward Village in Honolulu are among Howard Hughes Corp.’s chief retail assets.
