Whole Foods Market announces exec management promotions

Austin, Texas Whole Foods Market announced the promotions of Walter Robb and A.C. Gallo who have shared the roles of president and COO since October 2004.

Effective immediately, Robb will become co-CEO and will join the company’s board of directors. Gallo will serve as the company's sole president and COO.

John Mackey, co-founder of Whole Foods Market, will continue as co-CEO, serving alongside Robb. Robb and Gallo will continue to share oversight of the company's 12 operating regions, as well as purchasing, distribution, marketing and quality standards.
