Wal-Mart names president and CEO for Walmart Asia

Bentonville, Ark. Wal-Mart Stores announced Thursday that Scott Price has been named executive VP, president and CEO, Walmart Asia.

In this role, he will report directly to Doug McMillon, president and CEO, Walmart International, and have responsibility for the company’s current operations in Asia, including China, India and Japan as well as business development in the Asia region. Based in Walmart’s regional office in Hong Kong, Price will assume his role Oct. 15.

Price most recently served as CEO of DHL Express Europe. Prior to that, he was CEO, DHL Express Asia Pacific.

Wal-Mart has a significant presence in Asia with more than 100,000 associates and approximately 630 units in China, India and Japan.
