Valentino to Resign

Rome, Valentino Garavani said on Tuesday that he is stepping down as head designer of Valentino Fashion Group after 45 years in the business. Valentino said he would show his last ready-to-wear collection in Paris in October and his couture collection there in January.

In addition, Valentino Fashion Group said Wednesday it has appointed Alessandra Facchinetti, 35, as the fashion house's creative director for womenswear. She previously worked at Gucci, where she was Tom Ford’s replacement.
