9/3/2014

Albany, N.Y. - Trans World Entertainment Corp., owner of the FYE music and video chain, named Michael Feurer as CEO. Feurer, who succeeds longtime Trans World leader and founder Robert J. Higgens, most recently served as CEO and president of Vanity Stores. Higgins announced in March he was retiring.

"After spending considerable time with Mike, I am confident we have chosen the right candidate to lead our company," stated Higgins, who will remain chairman. "He is passionate and driven and understands the opportunity Trans World has to be the destination for entertainment. I am confident that he will drive our operating results and increase shareholder value."

Feurer's prior experience includes nine years at Coldwater Creek in various positions, including senior VP merchandising and merchandise operations and president, Strategic New Concepts. He also spent 10 years at Gap Inc. where he was responsible for planning for their Japanese, European, and Canadian markets. Robert J. Higgins, the company's founder, will continue to serve as chairman of the board.
