Tractor Supply Names Board Chairman

Brentwood, Tenn., Tractor Supply Co. on Friday named president and CEO Jim Wright as chairman of its board of directors.

Wright has served as a board member since April 2002.

The appointment is part of a previously announced succession plan in which Joe Scarlett, the nonexecutive chairman, will retire and become chairman emeritus. Scarlett served as CEO from 1993 to 2004 and as president and COO from 1987 to 1993.

Tractor Supply also named S.P. Braud to the newly created position of lead director of the board. Braud, who has served on the board since 1993, is chairman of the corporate governance committee and an audit committee member.
