Only eight retail and restaurant companies cracked a list of the 100 best places to work in the U.S.
The winners of the 11th annual Employees’ Choice Awards, from job and recruiting site giant Glassdoor, are determined based on feedback provided by those who know the company best – the employees. It is Glassdoor’s biggest and most popular list of the year. (The rankings are based on the input of employees who voluntarily provide anonymous feedback, by completing a company review about their job, work environment and employer over the past year. Among the more than 830,000 employers reviewed on Glassdoor, the average company rating is 3.4.)
Two retail companies made the top five, In-N-Out Burger, ranking No. 3 overall with a rating of 4.5, and Lululemon, at No. 9 with a rating of 4.4. Bain & Company took the top spot, with a 4.6 rating, followed by Zoom Video Communications, at 4.5.)
The other retailers that made the list were:
• Trader Joe's (No. 23)
• H E B (No. 31)
• Nebraska Furniture Mart (No. 45)
• Wegmans Food Markets (No. 46)
• Costco Wholesale (No. 79)
• Discount Tire (No. 81)
“To help people find the best jobs and the best companies, the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards recognize employers at the top of their game,” said Dr. Andrew Chamberlain, Glassdoor Chief Economist. “For employers, we know that a satisfied and engaged workforce helps drive financial performance. Glassdoor Best Places to Work winners are strategically investing in company culture, career growth opportunities and more, which also serves as a major recruiting advantage.”
