Tandy Leather Factory names interim CEO

2/9/2016

Shannon Greene, CFO of Tandy Leather Factory, was named interim CEO of the Fort Worth-based operator of more than 100 stores after CEO Jon Thompson resigned after more than two decades with the company.

Tandy Leather Factory released a statement announcing that Thompson had resigned from the company and stepped down from his seat on the board. No further explanation was offered, but the company said CFO Shannon Greene, a board member since 2001, would assume the role of interim CEO and senior VP Mark Angus would assume the role of interim president and work with Greene on the transition.

Thompson had served as Tandy’s CEO since July 2009 and president and COO since June 2008. From June 1993 to June 2008 he served as a senior VP.

Tandy Leather Factory is a specialty retailer and wholesale distributor of a broad product line including leather, leatherworking tools, buckles and adornments for belts, leather dyes and finishes, saddle and tack hardware and do-it-yourself kits. The company distributes its products through its 28 Leather Factory stores and 82 Tandy Leather retail stores.
