Talbots Names New Chairman of the Board

Hingham, Mass. Talbots Inc. said Thursday that it named Tsutomu Kajita, who has been a company director since 2005, as non-executive chairman of the board.

Kajita is an executive at Aeon Co., Talbots' majority shareholder.

Talbots also named Gary Pfeiffer, who's been an independent director at Talbots since 2004, as an independent lead director of the board, a newly established position.
