Talbots names CIO

Hingham, Mass. Talbots has named John Kovac to the newly created position of CIO.

Kovac, who will also serve as SVP, will head up the company’s information-technology initiatives.

Kovac previously worked at Liz Claiborne in positions including interim CIO, VP systems and operations and VP information technology.

He will report to COO and CFO Michael Scarpa.
