Talbots names 2 directors to board

Hingham, Mass. Talbots named Marjorie L. Bowen and Andrew H. Madsen as board members, effective Friday.

The company said Monday that the appointments of the two independent directors bring its board's size to six members, with five of those independent positions.

Bowen is the former managing director of investment banking firm Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin.

Madsen is the president, COO and board member for Darden Restaurants, which runs Olive Garden, Red Lobster and other dining locations.

Last week Talbots said it returned to a fourth-quarter profit through continued cost-cutting efforts and shrewd inventory management.
