Susser Retail Chief Resigns

Corpus Christi, Texas, Susser Holdings Corp. said Thursday that the head of its retail division will resign following its acquisition of Town & Country Food Stores, and will likely be replaced by Town & Country’s chief executive.

Roger Smith, COO of the retail division, will leave Susser once the acquisition closes, which the company expects to happen within the next few months. Susser expects that Alvin New, the CEO of Town & Country, will become chief executive of the division.

Smith had been retail COO for the last six years and was also an executive VP of Susser.
