Survey: Consumers link unclean restrooms with poor management
New York -- Some businesses are coming up short with their restroom facilities, according to a survey by Bradley Corp., a manufacturer of commercial plumbing fixtures. Fifty-one percent of survey respondents reported having had a particularly unpleasant experience in a public restroom due to the condition of the facilities.
For businesses, an unclean restroom is troublesome as survey respondents equated it with poor management. Sixty-two percent think that businesses that have unclean restrooms suffer from poor management overall and nearly one-third (31%) said they would never frequent the business again.
Most respondents cited a bad smell as the No. 1 cause. Toilets that were clogged or not flushed, and bathrooms that looked old, dirty or unkempt followed as the second and third most common problems.
