Sports Authority president adds CEO to title

Milwaukee Former Kohl’s Corp. executive David Campisi has added the CEO title to his role as president of Sports Authority.

Campisi succeeds longtime CEO Doug Morton, who announced his retirement in October 2009. Morton remains chairman.

Campisi has been president since 2005, overseeing merchandising and marketing. He joined Sports Authority as president of merchandising in 2004 after serving as executive VP merchandising and general merchandise manager of women’s apparel, accessories, intimate and cosmetics, which is Kohl’s largest division.

Prior to joining Kohl’s, he was senior VP merchandising at Fred Meyer, a unit of Kroger Co.
