Sports Authority makes exec appointments

Englewood, Colo. The Sports Authority on Friday announced the appointment of Jeffrey Schumacher to the position of executive VP, CMO and chief strategy officer.

Schumacher is charged with overseeing marketing, advertising, private brand strategy, digital/e-commerce, corporate and business development strategy.

Sports Authority operates 465 stores in 45 states. It also operates stores in Japan under a licensing agreement with AEON Co.
