Six reasons why the RILA board just got stronger

The Retail Industry Leaders Associations just named nine new members to its board of directors, including six CEO’s from some of the biggest names in retail
Joining the RILA board for the first time were CEO’s from J.C. Penney (Marvin Ellison) Foot Locker (Richard Johnson), PetSmart (Michael Massey), The Home Depot (Craig Menear), Michaels (Chuck Rubin) and Dollar General (Todd Vasos).
Other new members include Stephen Laughlin, vice president and global industry leader of retail for IBM, James chief retail sales officer with the Coca-Cola Company and Joe Jensen, vp and general manager of the retail solutions division of Intel.
In addition, Bill Rhodes, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of AutoZone was elected board chairman at the RILA board’s semi-annual meeting in Naples, Florida.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as RILA’s chairman and to continue to work with this exceptional group of retail leaders,” said Rhodes. “RILA is a valued partner on which America’s largest and most sophisticated retailers rely to help address the most pressing issues we face.”
Rhodes succeeds Richard Dreiling, chairman of Dollar General Corporation, who was elected to a two year term in 2014.
In addition, two current board members, Alan Hoskins, CEO of Energizer Holdings, Inc. and Walter Robb, Co-CEO of Whole Foods Market were re-elected to two-year terms.
