Sears Canada Taps Sears Holdings Execs

Toronto, Sears Canada announced Friday that its board of directors appointed Dene Rogers as president and CEO, effective Thursday. Rogers has been the company's acting president since May 9.

Prior to his role with Sears Canada, Rogers was executive VP of restructuring and business improvement for Sears Holdings and previously served as executive VP and general manager of Kmart Stores. He joined Kmart in October 2003.

William Crowley has been named chairman of Sears Canada. Crowley, also a member of the board of directors of Sears Holdings, has served as Sears Holdings' executive VP and chief administrative officer, and has been a member of the Sears Canada Board since March 2005.

Former CEO Brent Hollister left Sears Canada in May after 37 years with the company.
