Sally Beauty investigates unusual card activity

5/4/2015

Denton, Texas - Sally Beauty Holdings Inc. has announced it is currently investigating reports of unusual activity involving payment cards used at some of its Sally Beauty stores in the United States. The retailer reported a security breach that may have exposed fewer than 25,000 customer credit card numbers in 2014; media reports indicate this is a separate incident.

Since learning of these reports at an unspecified time, Sally Beauty says it has been working with law enforcement and its credit card processor, and has launched a comprehensive investigation with the help of a third-party forensics expert.

“Until this investigation is completed, it is difficult to determine with certainty the scope or nature of any potential incident, but we will continue to work vigilantly to address any potential issues that may affect our customers,” Sally Beauty said in a statement.

Customers with security concerns are advised to call the customer service hotline, and the retailer will also post updates on the investigation on its website.
