Rite Aid names exec VP pharmacy

Camp Hill, Pa. Rite Aid Corp. announced that Robert I. Thompson, formerly senior VP pharmacy operations, has been promoted to serve as executive VP pharmacy.

The company also announced that Bill Wolfe, formerly group VP managed care and government affairs, has been promoted to senior VP managed care and government affairs.

Thompson, who joined Rite Aid in July, 2004, as VP pharmacy business development, has served in a variety of management positions including senior VP pharmacy operations; senior VP operations for the Northeastern division and manager of the company’s integration of the Brooks Eckerd drug-store chain.

Wolfe joined Rite Aid in 1998 as COO of Eagle Managed Care, Rite Aid’s pharmacy benefit management subsidiary at that time.
