Report: Urban Decay opens first brick-and-mortar store
Newport Beach, Calif. –- Formerly pure-play online specialty cosmetics retailer Urban Decay has reportedly entered the brick-and-mortar arena. According to the Los Angeles Times, Urban Decay opened its first physical store, at the Fashion Island mall in its headquarters town of Newport Beach, Calif., on Monday, Nov. 17.
Founded as an online retailer in 1996, Urban Decay was purchased by cosmetics giant L’Oreal in 2012. The retailer plans to open a second physical store in London, U.K. in December 2014. The Newport Beach store features amenities such as four mirrored vanity table stations for makeup applications and a photo booth, as well as a ceiling-height metal sculpture of a tree and a nickel chain chandelier.
