Report: Macy’s treads on Amazon’s turf
New York – There is no shortage of retailers treading on different pieces of retail turf dominated by Amazon.com, and Macy’s is reportedly joining the list. According to Reuters, Macy’s will partner with same-day delivery provider Deliv to expand same-day delivery of online purchases to several new U.S. markets before the end of the summer.
Macy’s currently offers same-day delivery in eight markets: Houston; San Francisco; San Jose; Seattle; Washington, D.C.; Chicago; Los Angeles and New Jersey. An anonymous Macy’s official would not comment on how many or what markets Macy’s would add.
Currently, Amazon provides its own proprietary same-day delivery service in the metropolitan areas of Atlanta; Baltimore; Boston; Dallas/Fort Worth; Indianapolis; Los Angeles; New York City; Philadelphia; San Diego; San Francisco Bay area; Seattle/Tacoma; Tampa Bay area and Washington, D.C.
