Petco taps former GNC, Abercrombie exec as CFO; also names digital head

San Diego -- Petco announced it has named Michael M. Nuzzo as executive VP and CFO. Before joining Petco, Nuzzo served as chief administrative officer of the baby gear brand, 4moms. Previously, he served as CFO and executive VP at GNC Holdings, and in various leadership roles at Abercrombie & Fitch.

In addition, the pet products and services retailer named Michael W. Zuna as senior VP, chief marketing and digital officer. Previously, he served as executive VP and chief marketing officer for Aflac U.S., the nation's largest provider of supplemental insurance. Prior to that, Zuna was managing director at Saatchi & Saatchi New York.

Nuzzo and Zuna will be joining Petco in late April and both will be based at the company's national support center in San Diego.

"We are pleased to have two such accomplished leaders join the Petco team," said Petco CEO Jim Myers. "As CFO, Mike Nuzzo brings a successful track record of leadership for both public and privately-held companies and will play a key role in helping us further refine and execute our long-term growth strategy. As chief marketing & digital officer, Michael Zuna's wealth of innovative marketing experience will enable Petco to communicate our passion for pets and deliver the increasingly digital experience our customers expect while continuing to differentiate us from the competition."
