Naperville, Ill., OfficeMax Inc. on Friday named former Wild Oats Markets Inc. executive Sam Martin as its new COO, effective Sept. 17.

Martin previously served as senior VP of operations of Wild Oats Markets Inc., and as senior VP of supply chain for ShopKo Stores Inc. from 2005 to 2006.
